Corporate Intrigue! Family Drama! Murders! Really Good Food!
There are still tickets available for our last two Murder Mystery Dinners of the season,
on Saturday, March 8 and Saturday, April 5. Both games involve the web of lies and
intrigue created by the family and business associates of Hemloxx, Inc CEO Hunter
Bentley, so if you’ve ever wanted to channel any character from Dynasty or Dallas (or
possibly other, more recent family/corporate dramas. . . I grew up in the 80’s) here’s
your chance!
There are a very limited number of tickets left for Chaos in the Cubicles (a
MyMysteryParty.com game) on Saturday, March 8. During this game, you will take on
“a unique role within the fictional company (Hemloxx, Inc.) and carry ulterior
motivations and dark secrets,” as you attend the annual corporate gala.
On Saturday, April 5, we will return to the Hemloxx, Inc offices to hear The Last Will of
Hunter Bentley (a MyMysteryParty.com game). Each of you will be assigned a part as one
of Hunter’s family, or a close associate, as you gather to hear his last will and testament
following his apparent suicide.
If you’re new to our games, they are all immersive, interactive mysteries, with each
guest sharing information and trying to find out whodunnit, all while enjoying a four
course meal. But don’t worry, we will give you all the information you need for your role
– no improvising required!
To reserve places in the game, you can email events@lakesideinns.com, make a note
with your online reservation at lakesideinns.com/stay, or call the Lakeside front desk at
(269)469-0600. Tickets are $45 per person, and include the game and dinner. Tickets are
limited. All dinners are BYOB, but we have soft drinks available. Characters are
assigned in advance, and costumes are encouraged but not required. Contact Katie at
events@lakesideinns.com, if you have questions or need more information.
The things some people will do to get ahead in business. . . turmoil at Hunter
Bentley’s company, Hemloxx, Incorporated, was already the cause of murder in our last
game, Chaos in the Cubicles. Now, the company is again at the center of a murder
investigation when his friends and family gather to hear The Last Will of Hunter Bentley
(a MyMysteryParty.com game):
“Two days ago, Hunter Bentley’s body was discovered face down in the front
courtyard of his estate. Given the chaotic scene, the coroner’s first impression was that
a series of unfortunate accidents had caused Hunter’s death. Since the dearly departed
was the CEO of Hemloxx, Incorporated, thousands of livelihoods were on the line.
Within the hour, Hunter’s sibling became his replacement. Unfortunately, many
relatives have now flocked to the sprawling mansion, staking unfounded claims on his
possessions. Unsurprisingly, those squatting inside the property within the affluent
neighborhood of Rumson Waterloo Estates have started feuding.
This morning, Hunter Bentley’s death was declared a homicide, sending worldwide
shockwaves. Hunter’s attorney must make short-term decisions for his possessions,
obligations, estate management, and anything else that needs attention before the
probate attorneys settle the estate. All family members received a notice of a
mandatory meeting at Hunter’s estate. The local news anchor requested that anyone
who believes they might be mentioned in Hunter’s last will attend this meeting. You
found that to be peculiar, but you think that there is a chance the Last Will could
include you. You plan to attend. This is where your story begins.”
We will be playing this game on Saturday, February 1, at 7:30pm. As usual, tickets
for the game and dinner are $45 per person, and the evening is BYOB. Characters will
be assigned in advance. Costumes are encouraged but not required.
Tickets are limited. Please call (269)469-0600, or email events@lakesideinns.com to
sign up, or request a place when you book your 2-for-1 hotel reservation.
Corporate life is so complicated. . . cutthroat. . . but is it murderous? On Saturday,
January 18th, come play Chaos in the Cubicles (a MyMysteryParty.com game), and find
out how far you might go to get ahead at Hemloxx, Incorporated:
“In the thrilling world of Hemloxx, Incorporated, where ambition and rivalry thrive,
a yearly office celebration takes a dark turn. Amidst the happiness of achievement
recognition, a sense of wickedness lingers, casting a mysterious and ominous shadow
over the vibrant atmosphere. Unexpected events unfold, transforming the joyful
gathering into a gripping murder mystery.
As the night progresses, buried secrets, deception, and hidden motives emerge,
creating a complex web of relationships among the employees. Trapped in this sinister
puzzle, fear and suspicion grow, blurring the line between ally and adversary. Survival
hinges on uncovering the truth in a world of deceit and betrayal as the Hemloxx team
embarks on a quest to unmask the killer in their midst.
In this mystery game, each player assumes a unique role within the fictional
company (Hemloxx, Inc.) and carries ulterior motivations and dark secrets. As alliances
form and dissolve, a victim is claimed, and everyone becomes a suspect, forced to
navigate the treacherous labyrinth of the corporate world while solving the case.”

Before the holidays really kick off this year, I feel like we could all really use a
moment of reflection. . . perhaps a moment to consider which of your fellow
party-goers is capable of murder, with the assistance of the ancient and enigmatic
Mirror of Daebub?
If that sounds like fun (and not too much like I made a dreadful play on words), come
play Murder Behind the Mirror with us on Saturday, November 16, at 7:30pm (it’s a
MyMysteryParty.com game).
An indiscriminate group has received invitations to a mysterious affair called the
Nevermore Gala. All anybody knows is that it will be an unforgettable bash held behind
the mystifying Mirror of Daebub – an ancient relic that was recently purchased by one
of Manhattan’s elite at an exclusive art auction. Nobody knows the reason, but the
tycoon had second thoughts about his purchase and sold the magical mirror to an
unknown buyer in the town of Nevermore – over two-thousand miles away. You’ve
received an invitation to this cryptic social event of the year. Will you have the nerve to
take a step into the mirror and face what lurks behind?
As usual, tickets for the game and dinner are $45 per person, and the evening is
BYOB. Characters will be assigned in advance; costumes are encouraged but not
required.
Tickets are limited. Please call (269)469-0600 or email events@lakesideinns.com to

It’s hard to imagine right now, but soon fall will be here, and with it one of our
favorite weekends at Lakeside Inn – the Halloween Bizarre Bazaar, concluded by our
first Murder Mystery for the season!
This October 26th, we’ll be playing Murder at Anonville Manor (a
MyMysteryParty.com game):
“The historical Anonville Manor closed for business years ago because of a
desperate need for restoration and daft rumors of ghost hauntings. The previous
owners abandoned the rundown property, never turning back.
A secretive entrepreneur purchased the old bed & breakfast. The property has
undergone renovations, and the owner announced to the media that the manor is free
of paranormal activity and has been restored to the pristine caliber of the good ole days
when the rich and famous frequented the estate. The proprietor has chosen to remain
anonymous, but this decision intrigues the townsfolk. An exclusive group of people
have received invitations to the grand opening dinner party in the legendary Majestic
Promenade Ballroom of the estate. You are on the guest list. You are intrigued, but
apprehensive, as not everybody on the invite list gets along well, and sparks could fly.
This is where your story begins.”
We hope you can join us on Saturday, October 26th for both the Bizarre Bazaar
(11am – 4pm) and the Murder Mystery Dinner (7:30pm). Tickets for the game and dinner
are $45 per person, and the evening is BYOB. Characters will be assigned in advance;
costumes are encouraged but not required.
Tickets are limited. Please call (269)469-0600 or email events@lakesideinns.com to
sign up, or request a place when you book your 2-for-1 hotel reservation.
