Announcing the April Murder Mystery Dinner!
Please join us on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 6:30pm for Poe’s Raven Party (a game from MyMysteryParty.com).
“You have received an invitation to a Raven Party at the Poe Mansion in the gloomy crime-ridden city of Wraith’s Cove. The town gossips are chattering about the disreputable people on Eddie Poe’s guest list. What could Eddie be
thinking? Could it be that Eddie has finally gone mad? It appears that at least the Poe Mansion’s in dire need of assistance. Ever since Eddie’s housekeeper quit, the estate is in shambles.
Nevertheless, you are intrigued by the thought of a Gothic dinner party held in honor of a fiendish bird – even if this sordid group of ruffians may cause chaos. Chaos can be fun sometimes, right? This is where your story begins.”
Tickets for the evening are $45, and include both dinner and the game. The evening is BYOB and proof of vaccination is required.
Call us at 269-469-0600 or email reservationslk@lakesideinns.com to reserve a spot. You can also take advantage of our 2for1 room rate and make a weekend of it!
Characters will be assigned in advance so that everyone can pull together costumes for their character.
Please join us March 12, 2022 at 6:30pm for another Murder Mystery Dinner. The game will be Hatter’s Ball (from MyMysteryParty.com), a sequel to January’s Bloodwood Masquerade:
“The neighborhood socialites have touted the Hatter’s Ball as the bash of the year in the isolated town of Bloodworth Falls. Mayor Riley White has organized the event in the old Bloodwood Castle as a diversion from the scandals that have plagued the town in recent months. Of course, it’s no coincidence the ball is scheduled right before the upcoming mayoral election.
The mayor posted the invite list online, and your adversaries have already sent in their RSVPs. You’re intrigued and have decided you cannot miss an opportune moment to seek revenge on those who have crossed you in the past. Now, you are on a hunt for the perfect hat.”
Tickets will be $45/person, with a choice of stout braised beef or vegetarian option. The evening is BYOB, and proof of vaccine is required.
Call us at 269-469-0600 or email reservationslk@lakesideinns.com to reserve a spot. You can also take advantage of our 2for1 room rate and make a weekend of it!
Characters will be assigned in advance so that everyone can pull together costumes (and fabulous hats) for the ball.

Submissions for our 2022 Artist Residency Program will begin October 15th 2021 and close December 15th, 2021. During our inaugural year, Lakeside Inn hosted dancers, musicians, painters, photographers, printmakers, ceramicists, and writers.
Selected artists will be invited to participate in a two-week residency (three weeks for ceramic artists) based on their proposals and artistic medium. Residents are asked to donate a piece of their work to the inn for display in its permanent collection. If donating a piece is not possible (as with dancers or musicians), residents are asked to present a program at the inn, such as a group class, discussion, performance, or gallery showing.
We are also offering a month-long Artist Work Exchange Program for the months of June, July, and August. In this program, artists are able to earn a paycheck for 15-20 hours a week doing housekeeping for the inn, and are otherwise free to pursue their creative projects.

Lakeside Inn will be hosting a free art gallery event on Saturday, April 24th, 2021 from 1pm to 9pm. Featured artists at the event include multimedia artist Rosśa Crean, abstract painter and designer Lauren Nichols, and multimedia painter A.R. Drew. All artists will have their work available for sale, and will be painting live throughout the evening. Masks and social distancing will be enforced for
the safety of all.
An award winning artist, composer, and vocalist, Rosśa Crean uses their synesthesia as a tool to create works that reflect the worlds they see on a daily basis. A past fellow at the Museum of Modern Art in
New York City, their paintings have been labeled in the press as “liminal abstracts.” Rosśa also founded Shadow Play Art & Design, where they create ink prints, greeting cards, and tattoo designs. They won the American Prize in 2019 for their opera “The Great God Pan,” and most recently released two recordings, “The Priestess of Morphine,” an opera about erotic writer Marie-Madeleine, and “a lonely voice in these haunted rooms: songs in quarantine,” which was recorded in Room 13 at Lakeside Inn. More can be seen and heard at www.rossacrean.com.
Having grown up in the suburbs of Detroit, and now based in Chicago, Lauren Nichols experienced the changing landscape for working remotely due to COVID-19, and saw this as an opportunity to pursue her love for fine arts with the extra time she had. She is now a resident artist at the Watershed Studio works, in the Avondale neighborhood of Chicago, where she is able to work on her various large scale abstract paintings, and will be a resident artist at Lakeside Inn during this event. Go to www.laurennicholsdesigns.com to learn more about her work.
A.R. Drew is a prolific painter who engages in art as social advocacy and presents an energy that ignites her viewers to feel empowered. Diagnosed with bipolar disorder as a teenager, her figures and self-portraits address the experience she has had with her journey of finding her crown. Her work continues to represent the collective battle humanity faces to end a culture of shame. A.R. is the founder of The Crown Academy, and Co-President of The Alchemist’s Daughter. See more of her work at www.ardrewart.com.
This is a BYOB event.
